Amy Weaver MT-BC graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK in the Spring of 2000. Amy actively participated in Chamber Choir, Southwestern Singers, Music Therapy Student Association and served as president of her local campus chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon. Amy graduated magna cum laude, and interned for Under Musical Construction in the Spring of 2001.

In August of 2002 she took over ownership of the business. She has been teaching vocal and piano lessons since September 2001, maintaining a studio of 50 students in addition to her work with Under Musical Construction. Amy continues to enjoy working with the people of Metro-Atlanta, developing challenging and enjoyable curriculums for those of all ages, needs, and abilities.

Her professional memberships include American Music Therapy Association, Music Teachers National Association, and Kindermusik Educators Association.

Julia Distelhurst, MT-BC-Founder- completed coursework for a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Shorter College; later receiving a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy from Florida State University. Her clinical internship was in the state of Tennessee forensic system at Middle Tennessee State Psychiatric Hospital. She has completed additional graduate work from Valdosta State University in the area of Special Education.

Choosing the private sector, Mrs. Distelhurst, a Registered Music Therapist-Board Certified, owned and operated a music therapy practice for more than 20 years.

Specializing in the work with autistic, visually impaired and Rumanian adoptive children, Mrs. Distelhurst has worked closely with parents, teachers and schools in the area of inclusion and state mandated laws which dictate placement of these special learners.

Through her interest in music as a motivator for language development in the very young Mrs. Distelhurst-Hunter has authored a curriculum entitled "Tickles, Giggles and LullabiesĀ®"/"Rockin'Rattles and Baby BottlesĀ®". This curriculum is in an ongoing pilot study.
